Where the numbers come from.

The catalogue of top-level domains — including each extension's type taken from the IANA Type column (gTLD, ccTLD, sTLD, generic-restricted) and its sponsoring registry — comes from the IANA Root Zone Database, the authoritative record of delegated TLDs. Country names for ccTLDs come from ISO 3166-1 English short names (with a small override list for codes such as .uk and .eu). Flag SVGs are vendored from hampusborgos/country-flags. The list is synced on a regular schedule so new delegations and retirements are reflected here.

Registration, renewal, and transfer prices are collected from registrars' public pricing sources on a daily schedule. We currently track the registrars listed on the registrar index, and coverage grows as new collectors are added.

Collected prices pass through automated checks before publication. A price that deviates sharply from its previous value is quarantined for review instead of going live, so a broken feed can't silently corrupt the rankings. Every table shows when its data was last updated.

Coupon and promo listings come from registrars' public promotions. They are shown alongside — never blended into — the standard prices, so the renewal-first rankings always reflect the undiscounted recurring cost. Current offers are listed on the coupon index.

Listed prices are indicative and exclude registry premium tiers, ICANN fees, taxes, and promos that require a code at checkout. Registrars can change prices at any time; always confirm the final amount on the registrar's checkout page before you buy.
